Detectives are searching
for a man who assaulted
an Asian man
in Manhattan last month.
Authorities say that at 4:20
p.m. on May 22, the 48-yearold
victim was in the vicinity
of 26th Street and Broadway
when he was approached by
an unknown man. The suspect
proceeded to punch the victim
in the head and made an anti-
Asian statement before fl eeing
the scene.
The victim refused medical
attention at the scene. The
NYPD released a video of the
suspect taken from nearby surveillance
footage:
Suspect nabbed in deadly Chelsea shooting

Cops cuffed a Long Island
man suspected of slaying
a Brooklyn man outside a
Chelsea hotel last week.
Robert Johnson, 26, of West
Babylon was picked up for allegedly
shooting Brooklyn’s Byron
Morales, 25, of Lott Avenue outside
the Dream Hotel in Chelsea
last Thursday morning.
Morales was found shot in the
lower torso outside the hotel at
355 West 16th St. at about 12:22
a.m. on June 10. EMS rushed him
to Lenox Hill Hospital, where he
was pronounced dead.
The motive for the shooting was
not disclosed. Police did not provide

The suspect is described as
a Black man with long blue
braids who was last seen wearing
a light-colored sleeveless
t-shirt, neon yellow pants, and
backpack.

Alleged fi rebug cuffed for arson spree
around Chelsea and the East Side

Fire marshals slapped the
cuffs on a 49-year-old man
who allegedly went on an
arson spree across Chelsea and
the East Side of Manhattan earlier
this month.
Patrick Glynn is accused of
setting off a dozen separate fi res
between 4 and 6:30 a.m. on the
morning of June 2, lighting up
trash, debris and even two outdoor
dining areas. Four of the fi res
occurred within Stuyvesant Park,
and fi ve of the trash fi res extended
to adjacent buildings, causing serious
damage, the FDNY noted.
Firefi ghters were able to quickly
bring all of the fi res under control.
“Arson is extremely reckless
and shows a complete disregard
for the lives and safety of others,”
said Fire Commissioner Daniel
Nigro. “The quick apprehension
of the suspect exemplifi es the
dedication of our Fire Marshals
and their mission of bringing to
justice anyone who commits the
act of arson in our city.”

allegedly sparked fi res at the

• 201 East 12th St., setting
fi re to garbage which resulted in
building damage.
• 125 3rd Ave., ignited trash in
a dumpster.
• 64 West 17th St., torched debris
under a scaffold that spread
to an adjacent building.
• 115 4th Ave., set fi re to debris
near an outdoor dining area, causing
major damage.
• 1 East 15th St., torched the
exterior of a building.
• 152 7th Ave., sparked a fi re

• Stuyvesant Park, sparked
four separate fi res throughout
the greenspace, damaging city
property.
In addition to his arson spree,
Glynn allegedly also destroyed a
parked motorcycle at 232 East
12th St.
Glynn faces multiple counts
of arson in the second- and fi fthdegrees
and an additional count
of criminal mischief.
Man dead after driver strikes
him on Lower East Side

A 52-year-old man died of
his injuries after being
hit by a car while crossing
a Lower East Side street.
According to police, at 3:38
a.m. on June 15 police responded
to a 911 call regarding a motor
vehicle collision involving a pedestrian
struck at the intersection
of Delancey Street and Bowery.
Upon their arrival, offi cers found
the victim unconscious and unresponsive
with trauma throughout
his body.
An investigation found that
the victim was trying to cross
Delancey Street within the
crosswalk at Bowery, when a
2001 Nissan Pathfi nder, operated
by a 52-year-old man,
switched travel lanes while
driving down Delancey Street
and hit the victim. The driver
was not injured and remained
at the scene.
EMS rushed the victim to
New York Downtown Hospital,
where he was pronounced
dead. The victim’s identity is
being withheld pending family
notifi cation.
No arrests have been made
at this time. The investigation
is ongoing.
