Perp stabs man with
fork in Chelsea

The NYPD is looking
for a man who stabbed
someone with a fork in
Chelsea last month.
Authorities say that at 2:30
p.m. on April 10, a 50-year-old
man was walking in front of the
Salvation Army, located at 208
8th Avenue, when he was approached
by an unknown man.
The man pulled out a fork and
stabbed the victim in the arm.

The suspect then fl ed the
scene on foot southbound on
8th Avenue. EMS treated the
victim at the scene.

and a video of the suspect taken
from nearby the scene:

Suspect hits woman with hammer in possible
Hell’s Kitchen hate crime

Detectives are looking for a suspect
who attacked a masked
Asian woman with a hammer
in Hell’s Kitchen.
According to police, at 8:40 p.m. on
May 2 a 31-year-old woman and 29-yearold
woman were walking in front of 411
West 42nd Street when they were approached
by an unknown woman. The
suspect demanded that the victims, who
are both Asian-American, take off their
masks.
The suspect then proceeded to hit the
31-year-old in the head with a hammer.
Video shows the suspect continuing
the altercation before ultimately fl eeing
on foot. EMS responded and took
the victim, who suffered a laceration
to her head, to NYU Medical Center.

Bronx man cuffed in Florida
for LES shooting

Police picked up a Bronx
man who apparently fl ed
to Florida after allegedly
fi ring a shot on the Lower East
Side back in February that wound
up striking a resident in her home.
Law enforcement sources said
Carlyle Herring, 42, was picked
up in Tampa back on April 26 as
a result of an investigation into the
Feb. 16 road rage shooting at the
corner of Clinton and Delancey
Streets on the Lower East Side.
According to police, Herring
allegedly became angry at a pedestrian
crossing at the intersection
while the suspect attempted to
turn his black BMW sedan onto
Clinton Street. That led to a verbal
argument during which Herring
allegedly got out of his vehicle,
brandished a handgun and started
fi ring at the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was not hurt,
law enforcement sources said,
but one of the shots went astray
and smashed through the window
investigating a possible bias.

taken of the suspect from the incident

Meanwhile, Governor Andrew
Cuomo directed the state police’s
Hate Crimes Task Force to assist in
the investigation.
“I am disgusted by this violent attack
in Midtown Manhattan, the latest
seemingly senseless and despicable
hate crime against Asian Americans
in this state. We will do everything in
our power to protect those who are
vulnerable to these attacks and to hold
cowardly perpetrators accountable to
the full extent of the law,” said Cuomo.

to Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital
in stable condition.
Herring wound up being extradited
back to New York on May 4,
and was formally booked at the
7th Precinct Tuesday on charges
of attempted murder.

Armed crook swipes cash from
children’s store in Chelsea

Police are looking for
the public’s help in
finding the armed
bandit who robbed a
children’s clothing store in
Chelsea last week.
The stickup happened
at about 3:15 p.m. on April
23 inside the Lucky Wang
store at 82 7th Ave.
According to law enforcement
sources, the perpetrator
walked up to a 61-yearold
male clerk, displayed a
fi rearm and then issued a
verbal threat to the work.
Cops said the crook then
went to the store counter
and removed $100 in cash.
He then walked out of the
store and headed southbound
along 7th Avenue.
The incident was reported
to the 10th Precinct.
The clerk was not injured.
On April 30, the NYPD
released images of the suspect,
who’s shown at one
point with the stolen cash
in hand.
