KEEPING CALM AND STAYING CONNECTED
There’s a lot going on right now. As always, the Downtown Alliance remains dedicated
to keeping workers and residents connected to the community of Lower Manhattan.
Even while we are all necessarily self-isolating to help curb the spread of novel
coronavirus, there are still meaningful ways to be part of the corner of New York City
we all know and love.
During this time, we are keeping a living list of restaurants that are offering takeout
and delivery around the neighborhood, and encouraging residents to continue
supporting the Downtown businesses that remain open from a safe distance. Visit (and
bookmark!) the list at https://twn.nyc/C19_LMrestaurants.
To help businesses stay in the know, we’re also tracking grant and loan programs that
can help shop owners and workers stay afloat while New York City is paused. Visit the
list at https://twn.nyc/C19_LMbusinesses.
Every day, we are updating our blog (blog.downtownny.com) for residents, businesses
and Lower Manhattan enthusiasts. We hope that providing useful advice (such as how
you can donate supplies to hospitals and tips for safe grocery shopping) as well as
heartening diversions (like updates on the action going on in the Water Street falcon
live cam and how to make cocktails at home, even when you’re out of certain
ingredients) can help keep everyone calm, collected and reassured that they are not
alone in all of this.
We are here for you. If you have questions we can help answer or if you have resources
to share, let us know @downtownnyc. Keep in touch and take good care.
