Though St. Maarten houses some
legendary figures from all genres
of music, such as King Beau Beau
(calypso), Mighty Dow (calypso and
steel pan), Nasio Fontain (reggae) and
Connis Vanterpool (jazz), it’s difficult
to name a recent music artist from
the Dutch Caribbean country that
has found mainstream success.
To help spread awareness for artists
from St. Maarten to a worldwide
and younger audience, Audiomack
is partnering with St. Maarten radio
station 101 Laser’s DJ OutKast to
play nothing but St. Maarten artists
and producers for an hour straight,
titled “Audiomack Hour.”
“Audiomack works with artists

Haitian American entertainment
guru, Marie Driven, managing
partner of PlaybookMG.
“The platform delivers a userfriendly
experience for fans, musicians
and industry professionals,”
she added. By drafting potential new
listeners from the site’s largest demographic
of 15 to 34-year-olds, Audiomack
brings increased awareness to
upcoming global talent.

power, with growth and appreciation
of the diverse sounds of the culture,”
Driven continued. “These tools
are being provided to artists from St.

R&B songstress Gabriella Kochella
has unveiled a vibrant new music video
to hit single “Friend Dem.”
Powered by her bubbly spirit, the
video takes place in New York City.
“The visuals were imagined and captured
like the times,” Haitian American
entertainer producer, Marie Driven,
managing partner of the Brooklynbased
PlaybookMG, told Caribbean Life
on Monday.
“In a tumultuous 2020, Gabriella
wanted people all over the world to stay
positive,” Driven added.
Kochella said that, “during tough
times, we need more content that calls
for unity among people instead of division.
