 Mathieu Eugene launches
 relief effort for The Bahamas
 Council Member Mathieu Eugene, in
 partnership with local organizations, has
launched a relief effort at the District
Office to provide aid to the Bahamas in
the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian. The
resulting devastation of the storm has
resulted in 51 deaths, with thousands of
residents missing and without food, and
 nearly 70,000 left homeless.
“It is extremely important for our community
to do everything we can to help
the people of the Bahamas recover from
 the devastation of Hurricane Dorian,”
said Council Member Eugene. “The Bahamas
is home to thousands of hardworking
people who now face a monumental
 recovery and rebuilding process. There
are many residents affected by this storm
who were already struggling to provide for
themselves and their families, and now
their living circumstances are even worse.
There is a tremendous humanitarian need
to assist our brothers and sisters in the
Bahamas, and that is why I am partnering
with local organizations to provide these
much needed resources. I urge the members
of the community to drop off supplies
at the District Office Community Room,
located at 900 Rogers Avenue, any time
between 9 am - 5 pm, Monday through
Friday. This is an extremely important
goodwill gesture and it is the first of many
steps that should be taken to help The
 Bahamas rebuild and recover.”
Items to be donated at the District
Office, located at 900 Rogers Ave. include
 the following:
 Cleaning Supplies:
