CONCACF says Montserrat has
become one of the great revelations
in recent years — not just
in CONCACAF but all of world
soccer.
“The Caribbean island, with a
population of nearly 5,000, has
become one of the toughest opponents
in the region,” CONCACAF
said. “And no better example of
that was their performance in
CONCACAF Nations League Qualifying.”

The West Indies Players Association
(WIPA) has congratulated West Indies
cricket legend, Gordon Greenidge on
his knighthood.
The former opening batsman from
Barbados was officially made a Knight
Commander of the Order of St. Michael
and St. George (KCMG) recently.
WIPA in a release sent “heartfelt congratulations”
to Sir Gordon Greenidge
on “this distinguished honor.”
Sir Gordon began his international
career by paying for the West Indies. He

on CWI board

Former West Indies Captain, Darren
Sammy, OBE, has been appointed
a member of the Cricket West Indies
(CWI) board of directors following his
appointment as an independent nondirector
by the CWI board last week.
With more than 14 years of international
cricket experience, Sammy is
celebrated by many in the region and
across the world, as an inspirational
figure, renowned for leading the West
Indies to back-to-back ICC World Cup
titles in 2012 and 2016.
Sammy is an awardee of the Order
of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen
Elizabeth II and a goodwill ambassador
for St. Lucia.
He is also the head coach of Peshawar
in the Pakistani Super League and
