CONCACAF said on March 31 that
the final matches of the March slate
of the First Round of World Cup
Qualifying (WCQ) for Qatar 2022
began with Guyana bouncing back
from a qualification-opening defeat
against Trinidad and Tobago with a
4-0 victory against the Bahamas on
March 30 at the Estadio Olimpico

Dominican Republic.
“Terence Vancooten’s goal in the
eighth minute was the only thing
separating the teams after 45 minutes,
but Guyana was able to wear
down the Bahamas and take control

Test draw

West Indies and Sri Lanka played
out a predictable draw on a flat, batting
friendly surface, at the Sir Vivian
Richards Stadium on Friday, resulting
in a tied Test series with both matches
drawn.
Starting the day requiring a massive
effort in order to win the contest and
claim the two-Test series, West Indies
managed only two wickets in the rainaffected
match with Sri Lanka reaching
193 for two before both captains shook
hands on the stalemate 20 minutes

Alzarri Joseph to
play English
County cricket

West Indies fast bowler, Alzarri
Joseph is set to get a taste of English
County Cricket after signing a sevengame
deal with Worcestershire for the
first part of the upcoming season.
The 24-year-old who has taken 37
wickets from 15 Tests, is expected to
join the West Midlands team next week
following the conclusion of the current
series against Sri Lanka in the Caribbean
which ended on Friday.
“He is a quality performer, and we
are delighted to have signed him up
for the best part of two months,” said
Worcestershire Cricket Steering Group
Chairman, Paul Pridgeon.
He said Alzarri would be available
for seven matches and is an exciting
prospect.
