The Hero Caribbean Premier League
(CPLT20) said that the 2021 season
delivered outstanding exposure for partner
tourist boards with over 500 million
viewers and a total sponsorship of
US$316.1 million.
In a statement, CPL said this figure
was generated from a report by

independent research company YouGov
Sport.
The tournament took place in St.
Kitts and Nevis between Aug. 26 and
Sept. 15 with all 33 matches taking
place at Warner Park.
CPL said the total viewership figure
for 2021 was 517.4 million, adding that it
was the second straight year the tournament
surpassed half a billion viewers.
It said that the tourist boards in St.
Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Barbados,
Jamaica and Guyana all had innovative
and engaging advertising throughout
the Hero CPL broadcast, including
branding and tourism vignettes highlighting
why these countries are must
visit locations.

West Indies selectors have named a
15-member squad for this month’s 50
over World Cup tournament in New
Zealand.
the team will face host country New
Zealand on March 4 in the opening
match of the eight-team tournament.
West Indies are still vying for their
maiden crown in the Women’s World
Cup after losing to Australia in the
2013 final in India.
Vice-captain Anisa Mohammed is
set to play a record fifth ICC World
Cup. The 33-year-old off-spinner is the
squad’s longest serving player, having
featured in 136 One-Day Internationals
since making her debut two decades
ago.
Her first World Cup came as a
16-year-old for the showpiece in South
Africa.
Mohammed will now join the likes
of Captain Stafanie Taylor and Deandra
Dottin, both of whom have also played
ODIs, for the campaign, which runs
from March 4 to April 3.
There are eight surviving members
from the nightmare that was the
2017 World Cup in England when West
Indies won two of seven matches to
finish sixth and missed out on the
semifinals.

to host the 2022 Games but has
been awarded hosting rights for

Jamaica is the most successful
country at the CARIFTA Games
with 770 gold medals since the
records began in 1990. It has hosted
the event on seven occasions.
