West Indies Test captain and One-
Day International skipper, Kieron
Pollard are among 10 players who
have pulled out of this month’s tour
of Bangladesh over COVID-19 related
concerns.
The West Indies selectors were
forced to name a depleted squad for
the tour of the Jan. 20 – Feb. 15
series in the South Asian country.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) said
the10 players had declined due to
“COVID-19 concerns or related fears”
ahead of the ODI and Test match
tournament.
Up to a week ago Bangladesh had
reported 510,080 confirmed cases of
COVID-19 along with 7,479 deaths.

Captain, Kieron Pollard and former
captain, Chris Gayle have been named
in the International Cricket Council
(ICC) men’s T20 International Teams–
of- the-Decade.
In awards announced by the sport’s
world governing body, West Indies
Women captain, Stafanie Taylor, along
with dynamic all-rounder, Deandra
Dottin, were also included in the ICC
Women’s T20I Team-of-the-Decade.

Ambrose says the West Indies players
don’t seem to have the passion, pride
and will to win matches.
The 57-year-old former coach with
the regional team, said urgency among
the players had been lacking which was
seen in the way the team fielded and
batted in both the New Zealand Test.
West Indies lost each Test by an
innings inside four days to extend their
dire record of not having won a Test
series on New Zealand soil in 25 years.
“The guys are not looking hungry
enough from what I have seen,” said Sir
Curtly, who dominated his career with
405 wickets from 98 Tests.
“They don’t seem to have that type of
passion and the pride and will to win.
