 Veteran  opener  Chris  Gayle  is  
 among several West Indies stars who  
 will be taking part in the Abu Dhabi  
 T20 tournament which bowls off in  
 January. 
 The 41-year-old Gayle joins Windies  
 teammates Andre Russell, Dwayne  
 Bravo and Sunil Narine, who according  
 to media reports will be playing  
 in the Jan. 28 to Feb. 6 tournament  
 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. 
 Gayle was quoted in a statement  
 as  saying  he  waited  to  play  at  the  
 Zayed Cricket Stadium again, watch  
 out Abu Dhabi — a Gayle storm is  
 coming.” 
 The Jamaican, the most successful  
 batsman ever in the Twenty20  
 format, will be the icon player from  
 Team Abu Dhabi. 
 The tournament had been slated  
 for November but was rescheduled

 West Indies Twenty20 Captain, Kieron  
 Pollard has been named captain  
 of the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force  
 senior men’s cricketers in the upcoming  
 Regional Super50 Cup tournament  
 which  will  be  played  in  Antigua  and  
 Barbuda.  The  tournament  bowls  off  
 from Feb. 4 to 27, 2021.

 WI players to  
 get full pay

 West Indies players and staff may get  
 their full remuneration packages come  
 January 2021 after six months on half  
 pay.T 
 his was revealed by Cricket West  
 Indies (CWI) CEO, Johnny Grave who  
 said  he  was  hoping  that  full  funding  
 and salary payments can resume as  
 early as January 2021. 
 During  an  interview  with  a  T&T  
 newspaper Grave said he is hoping that  
 everyone will be on full pay and funding  
 from January onwards. 
 Earlier this year, CWI announced  
 a 50 percent salary cut due to funding  
 across the entire regional cricket  
 system, effective from July due to the  
 financial crunch caused by the COVID- 
 19 pandemic.
