CONCACAF said on Monday that
the First Round of its World Cup
Qualifying for Qatar 2022 continued
Sunday, with “a fun-filled first match
between Panama and Dominica ending
with the 2018 FIFA World Cup
veterans closing out their March
with a 2-1 win.”

Tame draw

The first Test between the West
Indies and Sri Lanka ended in a tame
draw last week at the Sir Vivian Richards
Stadium in Antigua.
Set an improbable 375 to win, the
West Indies entered the final day on
34 for one after losing one wicket in
the final hour on day four.
Nkrumah Bonner, who was on 15
at the start of the day, batted out the
entire day to score an unbeaten 113,
spending seven hours in the middle

Cricket West Indies (CWI) directors
from the Guyana Cricket Board
(GCB) and Barbados Cricket Association
(BCA) blanked the scheduled
CWI AGM on Sunday forcing the virtual
meeting to the postponed.
The election of the CWI president
and vice-president for the next twoyear
term was due to take place on
Sunday’s meeting with the incumbent
president, Ricky Skerritt and
vice-president, Dr. Kishore Shallow
set to face a challenge from Honorary
GCB Secretary, Anand Sanasie and
BCA’s Calvin Hope.
Skerritt and Shallow defeated Dave
Cameron and Emmanuel Nathan in
the 2019 election by a margin of 8-4.
