The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)
has admitted that it had paid extra
money to members of the West
Indies squad that visited Karachi
two years ago to play a Twenty20
series on the PCB’s invitation.
PCB Chairman, Eshan Mani told
a National Assembly standing committee
recently that the board paid
each West Indies player around
US$25,000 to come for the tour.
The West Indies selectors belatedly
named a 13-man second string
squad for the historic three-match
T20 tour of Pakistan in 2018.
Captain Carlos Braithwaite, the
hero of the Caribbean side Twenty20
World Cup victory in 2016, did
not make the trip along with other
stars, Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Sunil
Narine and Kieron Pollard because
of security concerns.

WI tour of UK
uncertain

Cricket West Indies (CWI) says it will
continue to liaise with its counterparts,
the England and Wales Cricket Board
(ECB), over the upcoming Test tour of
England as the coronavirus pandemic
continues to disrupt the United Kingdom’s
sporting calendar.
West Indies is scheduled to tour England
for Tests at the Oval and Lord’s in
London and Edgbaston in Birmingham.
All three fixtures are scheduled for the
month of June when the UK government

Flower named
head coach

British- Zimbabwean cricket coach
and former cricketer, Andy Flower has
been named St. Lucia Zouks head coach
for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League
(CPL).
The Zouks were last month purchased
by KPH Dream Cricket Private
Limited, the consortium that owns
Indian Premier League (IPL) side Punjab
XI Punjab.
Flower, 51, was also recently appointed
as King XI’s assistant coach. He
worked as assistant coach for the England
cricket team prior to becoming
head coach in 2009.
During that stint which ended in
2014, England won the Ashes series
home and away, the T20 World Cup
in 2010 and became the number one
