Jamaican dancehall recording
artist Govanna has followed up
his string of hit singles with a new
song, “I Am.”
“This new track is a poignant
message to downtrodden people
in this dark time,” Ronnie Tomlinson,
the Jamaican-born, Brooklyn
based entertainment publicist,
told Caribbean Life. “Govanna is
providing exactly what is needed
with the looming crisis war, whilst
we are in a global pandemic; words
of inspiration and hope.
“The chorus of this new single
is ripe with positive affirmations
that tend to be harder to believe
than we think,” added the chief
executive officer of the New Yorkbased
Destine Media. “This new
track by Govanna has turned these
affirmations into a mantra, reinforcing
them through repetition.”
Originally produced by Dunwell,
who is known for a slew
of hits in dancehall, Tomlinson
said “I Am” is also hopeful in its
rhythm, drum patterns and chord

Music Director Leon Botstein will
lead the American Symphony Orchestra
(ASO) on March 24 in a tribute to
the genre-defying genius of the great
Duke Ellington with an all-Ellington
symphonic concert at Carnegie Hall,
where the composer played a series of
annual concerts and premiered many
of his greatest works, including Black,
Brown, and Beige and New World
A-Comin.’

Multi-award-winning Jamaican
dancehall star Sean Paul has
announced his 2022 US Scorcha Tour
dates that will include features from
his 8th studio album set to be released
later in the year, entitled “Scorcha.”
Returning to the stage after two
years because of the pandemic, Paul
said he is “eager and excited” to reconnect
with his fans live and in-person.
Almost a year after the release of his
GRAMMY-nominated 7th studio album
“Live N Livin,” the dancehall star
returned to the studio and released
“Dynamite” in November 2021, a second
collaboration with Sia, following
their smash-hit “Cheap Thrills,”
