 A second-string West Indies team  
 under  stand-in  Captain  Kraigg  
 Braithwaite defeated Bangladesh by  
 17 runs in a thrilling second Test  
 to complete a 2-0 series sweep at  
 the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket  
 Stadium in in Dhaka, Bangladesh  
 on Sunday. 
 West Indies won the first Test by  
 three wickets, chasing a historic 385- 
 run target. 
 Off-spinner  Rakheem  Cornwall  
 played a key role, ending the match  
 with nine for 179 as West Indies  
 clinched the series despite stubborn  
 resistance from Mehidy Hassan. 
 Cornwall  followed  his  five  for  
 74 with four for 105 in the second  
 innings to help bowl Bangladesh out  
 for 213, with the hosts chasing a target  
 of 231.

 Former  West  Indies  fast  bowler,  
 Ian Bishop, has described the Kraigg  
 Brathwaite-led West Indies Test squad  
 as “heroes” for their decision to tour  
 Bangladesh,  especially  after  several  
 first choice players backed out due to  
 COVID-19 fears. 
 Bishop, who is now a well-known  
 international  cricket  television  commentator, 
  speaking during the first session  
 on the final day of the opening

 Former West Indies fast bowler, Fidel  
 Edwards wants to return to international  
 cricket for the first time in almost 10  
 years. 
 Edwards, 39, who has made himself  
 available for West Indies, last represented  
 the  regional  team  in 2012,  said  
 he was as fit as he has ever been and  
 believed he could play a part in the West  
 Indies’ Twenty20 World Cup campaign  
 later this year, 
 He also hopes to return to the Indian  
 Premier League  (IPL). He  last played a  
 match in the tournament in 2009 where  
 he was part of the Deccan Charges side  
 that won the tournament but will put  
 himself into the auction this year.
