West Indies Head Coach, Phil Simmons
 has described his team’s performance
as “under par” in all three
recent matches of the One-Day International
 series against Bangladesh
 in which they were comprehensively
 beaten.
Simmons said the players needed to
handle spin better, noting that West
Indies bowling wasn’t that bad and
“our batting has been poor throughout
the series,” he said in a post-match
 interview.
West Indies suffered defeat in all
 three One-Day Internationals and
crashed to a 120-run defeat in the final
 match in Chattogram last month.

Simmons said, “we need to play spin
better. We need to be able to rotate
strike and score boundaries in Bangladesh
a lot better, so there is work to
 be done.”
The West Indies coach was also
forced to admit that “every time you
have low scores like, there is not
enough character shown. There is not
 enough heart and determination.”
 However, despite the negative
 results, Simmons was encouraged by
the work of debutant left-arm spinner
Akeal Hosein adding “he’s definitely a
 man of the future.”

returned positive results and will be
placed in isolation in accordance with
 the Government of Barbados protocols.
 Batsman Zachary McCaskie and
 wicket-keeper-batsman Tevyn Walcott
will replace the Hope brothers in
 the Barbados Pride 15-man squad.
The squad is expected to depart
the island on Sunday, Feb. 7-27 for
 the regional domestic 50-over championship.
The latest development will be a
massive blow to the Pride squad as
the Hope brothers were two of the
nine players with West Indies experience
set to play in the tournament.
Shai, 27, is one of the world’s leading
 one-day batsmen, boasting an
average of 52 in internationals. Ironically,
he was one of 10 West Indies
 players who declined selection for
the ongoing tour of Bangladesh due
 to “COVID-19 concerns or personal
fears, over the health situation in the
 South Asian country.”
 Kyle, meanwhile has played five
Tests and several ODIs for West Indies
and was making a return to the Pride
 squad after spending several seasons
with Trinidad and Tobago Red Force.
start of good things to come.”
“This is CWI’s largest ever media
rights agreement in the USA and is
the first of several new multi-year
 arrangements which we will confirm
in the coming weeks,” Skerritt said in
 a statement.
 Covered under the new agreement
is CWI’s Super50 Cup which bowls off
 in Antigua from Feb. 7-27.
CWI CEO Johnny Grave, said the
 deal represented the opportunity for
 growth for the organization, providing
a platform to achieve its strategic
 goals.
were their first for the USA, with center
back Miles Robinson also netting his
 first international goal.
“A youthful US line-up out possessed
the Soca Warriors by a wide margin
and piled up a 19-2 advantage in shots,”
 USASoccer said.
On the night, it said six players earned
their first caps: goalkeeper Matt Turner
and defender Aaron Herrera started the
 match while defender George Bello,
 midfielders Andres Perea and Tanner
Tessmann and forward Darly Dike came
 on as second-half substitutes.
Ten players who took the field were
age-eligible (born in 1997 or later) for
 March’s CONCACAF Men’s Olympic
 Qualifying Championship, USASoccer
 said.
“The USMNT took very little time to
show T&T that it would be a long night
as Ferreira set up Lewis for his first US
goal less than two minutes after the
opening whistle,” it said. “The Americans
 pressed aggressively and played at
a pace that Trinidad and Tobago struggled
to match, with the USA spending
much of the game in their attacking
 half.
“An extended spell of possession deep
in the final third sparked the second
USA goal in the ninth minute as a nice
interchange ended in a nifty Ferreira
finish, the FC Dallas forward’s first tally
 of the night,” it added.
“The USA continued to threaten during
the course of the half, keeping the
Trinidadian defense on its heels and
finding plenty of room to run on the
 wings,” it added.
 USASoccer said goalkeeper Adrian
Foncette had his “hands full” but did
make a few excellent saves on the night
 to keep the score down.
In the 22nd minute, Ferreira broke
free on the run towards goal and then
“teed up an onrushing Arriola for the
veteran winger’s first of the night,”
 USASoccer said.
Not letting up, it said the DC United
forward “bagged his brace in the 41st.”
Arriola has scored three goals in his
last two matches, with Sunday tonight’s
being his seventh and eight for the USA,
 USASoccer said.
“The USA kept its foot on the gas
after the break, and a flurry of goals
 extended the American advantage early
in the second half,” it said. “A clinical
set piece opened the scoring as captain
Aaron Long headed the service back
across goal to his center back partner
Robinson, who buried a diving header
from close range for his first international
 tally.
 “After opening the scoring early,
Lewis also netted in 55th minute, ripping
a rocket from 18 yards into the
right side of the ne,” it added. “Ferreira
added his second to cap the scoring in
