Hard-hitting Twenty20 batsman,
Chris Gayle is among four West
Indies stars selected for the Pakistan
Super League (PSL), which starts on
Feb. 20 and ends on March 22.
Gayle, 41, along with former Twenty20
Captain, Carlos Brathwaite were
selected in the draft, but openers
Lendl Simmons and Even Lewis were
not among the 25 foreign players
announced by the Pakistan Cricket
Board (PCB) last week. Gayle was
selected for 2019 champions Quetta
Gladiators, while Braithwaite will
turn out for Multan Sultans.
White-ball specialist Chadwick
Walton was taken by Karachi Kings
in the Gold category, while 22-yearold
emerging T20 International star,
Sherfane Rutherford was selected by
Peshawar Zalami in the Diamond
category.

(WIPA) has no problem with the safety
of the West Indies squad for the upcoming
tour of Bangladesh
The players union has thrown its
support behind the COVID-19 health
protocols implemented for the series.
WPIA Secretary, Wayne Lewis said
the association had held extensive discussions
with Cricket West Indies (CWI)

arrives in Dhaka

The 38-member West Indies squad
arrived earlier this week in Dhaka to
become the first international team to
arrive in Bangladesh since the COVID-
19 outbreak.
The pandemic has already has hit
the squad after fast bowler, Romario
Shepherd, who was part of the One-Day
International team, returned a positive
result for the COVID-19 virus in Guyana
prior to their departure.
Keon King, 24, Barbados fast bowler
has been named as Shepherd’s replacement,
making it nine uncapped players
in the 15-man One-Day International
squad. Due to the pandemic, several top
West Indies cricketers have opted out of
the tour from both the One-Day Internationals
and Tests.
