Trinidad and Tobago’s team

Paul and Keron Bramble has been
stripped of their gold medal at the
Pan American Games in Lima, Peru
in August, while Phillip also lost his
individual silver medal in the match
sprint due to an alleged positive doping
result at the games.
Pan Am Sports last week posted
the new results from Peru in
the team sprints and match sprint,
which showed Paul keeping his top
spot and gold medal in the individual
ride while Colombian Kevin Quintero
assumed the runner-up spot at
the expense of Phillip, while Venezuelan
Hersony Canelon serviced
bronze.
Trinidad and Tobago had secured
a one-two finish with Paul and Phillip
at the event after Paul beat Phillip

Two West Indies legendary cricketers,
Clive Lloyd and along with former batting
star Gordon Greenidge, have been
awarded Knighthoods in the Queen’s
New Year Honor list.
Lloyd, 75, a Guyanese, who captained
the West Indies in World Cup triumphs
in 1995 and 1979, was last Friday honored
for his “services to cricket development
of sport” on the overseas list.
Greenidge, meanwhile, a 68-year-old
former opening batsman, has been conferred
with the Order of St. Michael and

Shai Hope in ICC
top 10 rankings

West Indies opening batsman, Shai
Hope has moved into the top 19 of
the ICC One-Day International batting
rankings for the first time, following
his heavy scoring in the recent series
against India.
In the latest rankings released last
week, the 26-year-old had jumped five
spots to ninth position, to be the highest
placed West Indies batsman.
His upward movement comes on the
heels of the three-match series against
India where he gathered 222 runs at
an average of 111, to top the Caribbean
side’s aggregate.
The Barbadian struck an unbeaten
102 in the opening ODI in Chennai,
which West Indies won by eight wickets
to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Overall, Hope has scored eight ODI
