GIRLS MAJORS

The Blessings continues
for Velocity Track Club New
York. On Saturday, Nov. 6, we
competed in the AAU Metropolitan
(New York) District
Cross-Country Championship
at Cunningham Park in
Queens. All athletes that participate
in this District Meet,
qualifi ed for the AAU National
Cross-Country Championships
on Saturday, Dec. 4 at
McAlpine Park in Charlotte,
North Carolina.
The following events were
contested: 1000 meters run for
6-year-old and under; 2000 meters
run for 7-8 years old; 3000
meters run for 9-10 and 11-12
years old; 4000 meters run for
13-14 years old and 5000 meters
run for 15-18 years old; and
Open/Masters. Medals were
awarded to the top three athletes
in their event/division.
All Velocity’s athletes
punch their ticket to the XC
(Cross Country) nationals,
and the following athletes medaled:
Romel Barrett, fi rst in
the Boys 9 years old division;
Kenese Irish Bramble, third
place in the 13 years old Girl’s
division and Royana Murray,
second place in the 14 years
old Girls Division. Great job to
all athletes.
Velocity wishes to thank
everyone who supported our
fundraiser at Roc n Ramen
Restaurant in New Rochelle.
Roc n Ramen is a noodle-Caribbean
Infusion restaurant.
They donated 20% of all purchases
of all customers that
mentioned “Velocity Track
Club.”
I apologize to many of our
supporters for not doing a better
job sharing this information
about this fundraiser.
This was our fi rst time trying
this fundraiser and it was
a success and the food was
great. Therefore, we will have
another one and I will do a better
job getting the information
out.
Our next meet will be the
Track & Field Fiesta on Saturday,
Nov. 21 at Ocean Breeze
Facility. Come out to see your
future Olympians. All coaches
and spectators must be vaccinated
to enter the building.
