Saint Helena Catholic Church held its Parish Carnival from Aug. 13-21, offering up live music,
food, games, raffl es, rides, fun and laughter. . Of all the rides, Tommy’s Midway Ferris Wheel
seemed to be a popular attraction as some members of the 43rd Precinct and young adults
decided take it for a spin. There were tents with snacks, hotdogs and other treats, including
funnel cake and deep fried oreos.

On Aug. 18, Mosholu Library hosted a grand opening in celebration of its new outdoor space.
This safe green space is full of nature — grass, trees and plants. There are tables where attendees
can put their books, computers and laptops. They can also sit down and do some
work while outside.
