gave out $500 gift cards to families
in need on Dec. 27 for the holidays.
Recipients included families that were
denied Excluded Workers Fund and
SNAP benefi ts, have not received unemployment,
or are dealing with medical
bills.

On Dec. 22, Monique Johnson, president
of Throggs Neck Resident Council
presented Throggs Neck Winter
Wonderland at Kips Bay Boys & Girls
Club at Balcom Avenue in the Bronx.
At the event, young adults were
treated with gifts of their choice, delicious
treats, music, appearances by
superheroes and prizes. This event
was supported by NYCHA, NYPD,
Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, NYS Assemblyman
Michael Benedetto and
NYC Councilman Mark Gjonaj.

better known as “Aunt Cathy” — being
nominated as Auxiliary member
of the year for her tireless work sending
packages to troops through the
Support the Troops program. Former
Commander Guy Richardson helped
gather donations of items and cash for
shipping. “Till they all come home,”
the group said.
