Again we thank the

the assist.
Another thanks to the
TN Post Offi ce for fl ying our
POW/MIA fl ag and the crew,
Legion and SAL at Bronx
Shore for fl ying fl ags for all
to see from our new pole with
light. Chase Bank called to
give me a thanks in advance
of Veteran’s Day and to offer
any assistance to us old
guys. Not necessary, but was
very thoughtful.
Wife and I delivered fl ags
to those who responded to my
email, we’ll see how Veteran’s
Day ceremonies work out. Big
thanks to Joseph Lucchesi of
Dormi Funeral Home for the
generous stick fl ag donation.
Nice gathering at BVMP,
“Veterans Park.” I love an old
fashioned big parade but we
have to improvise right now.
Our special season is upon us,
let’s try to participate as much
as possible, as best as possible!
Until next time: When
this virus is over, I still want
certain people to stay away
from me!

Since the pandemic is rearing
its ugly head again, we
are canceling our November
meeting. Hopefully, the new
year will bring some respite
from this and with the news
of a promising vaccine on the
horizon, maybe things will
break in our favor.
I’m sure by now most of
you have seen the road diet
on East Tremont Avenue and
all I can say is that the craziness
that is ensuing is beyond
comprehension. Delivery
trucks now have to park
in the middle of the street to
deliver making it unsafe for
drivers when they have to
cross traffi c with their deliveries
and the bike lane is
constantly blocked by double
parkers causing drivers to
swing onto the yellow lines
to pass, causing chaos there.
There is not enough parking
on East Tremont and this is
doing a disservice to small
businesses if customers can’t
get to their stores. They are
trying to make a living during
these stressful times. If
we have to go into lockdown
again, it will be devastating.
Please make sure you shop at
our local businesses.
In January, we will start
collecting dues for 2021 as we
have expectation we will be
able to meet in March 2021.
Wow, it is crazy that we lost a
whole year. What else can go
wrong this year…a pandemic,
fi res, fl oods, earthquakes
around the globe. When will
it end? Hopefully, soon.
I saw the Throggs Neck
BID’s welcoming lights at
each end of the Neck and
can’t wait to see the holiday
lights shining again. It gets
you into the holiday spirit.
The executive board of
THHOA wishes you all a wonderful
and peaceful Thanksgiving.
May the blessings of
this time be bountiful for you
and your family.
