BENEDETTO RECEIVES AWARD FROM NYISE
Leaders of the 4201 Schools Association honored Assemblyman Michael Benedetto for his
service to physically challenged students at the New York Institute for Special Education on
Friday, October 25. Assemblyman Benedetto, a retired educator, is an advocate and supporter
of organizations serving students who are deaf, blind or severely physically disabled. He has
focused on educational and child protection issues during his career as a state legislator.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
The Melrose Senior Center, located on 342 E. 152nd Street, recognized Breast Cancer Awareness
Month with an event to educate its residents, both male and female, about the disease
and the importance of getting screened and tested on a regular basis.
