WOODLAWN UNVEILS GRAVESTONE FOR DOROTHY PARKER LITTLE LEAGUE HOLDS HONORS
On Aug. 23, many came out in celebration of the gravestone unveiling of Dorothy Parker at Woodlawn Cemetery
and Conservancy. Parker was a writer, poet and witty soul. She was known for her satire in her writings. At
Woolworth Chapel where the ceremony was held, attendees listened as her poems were read and The Rounders
performed with Kate Mannings.

LOCALS TOUR BRAND NEW NORTHEAST BRONX YMCA AHEAD OF OFFICIALS OPENING
On Sept. 9, elected offi cials will be on hand to offi cially christen and celebrate the opening of a newly constructed YMCA in the northeast Bronx, located at 1250 E. 229th St., at Schieffelin
Place. The event is being co-hosted by New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, state Sen. Jamaal Bailey, NYC Councilman Kevin Riley, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., and
U.S. Rep. Jamaal Bowman.
