WORKING TOGETHER FOR A CLEAN, SAFE AND THRIVING
MORRIS PARK AVENUE COMMERCIAL CORRIDOR!
Morris Park Business Improvement District
Supporting and advancing the success of Yemeni owned business
in Van Nest and Morris Park
Morris Park and Van Nest have seen an increase in small business development in the past year. We are
particularly proud to see the diversity and dynamism mobilized from the Yemeni merchant community, a
very important part of the Morris Park commercial development.
The MPBID is grateful to partner with YAMA, AYAB, SBS and multiple city agencies facilitate services for
small businesses, and to take part in community events addressing the needs and
especially the quality of life issues our small businesses are facing.
The MPBID thanks Assemblywoman Natalia Fernandez, Council Members Oswald Feliz and
Marjorie Velazquez for convening a substantial townhall conversation with the Morris Park and
Van Nest Yemeni small businesses. Another big thanks to the Yemeni American Merchants
Association (YAMA) for bringing together Bronx organizations and city agencies to discuss access to
retail licenses and permitting, and the various assistance programs available from city agencies. We
are always thankful for our continued partnerships with YAMA, AYAB and the Bronx DA Clark’s
office. Together we were able to share resources, address community public safety and security
concerns, and speak about economic development for the post-pandemic.
Welcome to Morris Park Avenue!
