
SUPPLIES COLLECTED FOR
PR EARTHQUAKE RELIEF
Councilman Mark Gjonaj recently partnered with Bronx
Community College and their Latino Association faculty
and staff, who picked up donations from Gjonaj’s offi ce and
made arrangements to ship the supplies to Puerto Rico to
assist with the earthquake relief effort. Those who donated
to the cause included the New York Institute for Special Education
and St. Raymond School.

attended the Silver Beach Association St. Patrick’s Day Senior
Citizen Luncheon last week, where he spent time with
local residents and kids also in attendance.

assist local merchants and residents in response to the New York State Plastic Bag Ban.

On Sunday, March 8, Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernandez partnered with Maple Hill Creamery, ICNA and the Albanian American
Open Hand Association to giveaway 1,000 cartons of 100 percent grass-fed organic milk at the ICNA Relief Center located
at 2141 Holland Avenue.
SALAMANCA, NYCDOS HAND OUT REUSABLE BAGS
Last week, Councilman Rafael Salamanca joined NYC Department of Sanitation commissioner Kathryn Garcia and Community
Board 2 district manager Ralph Acevedo to distribute over 1,000 reusable bags in response to the Plastic Bag Ban
that went into effect on March 1.
