Black Owned
Businesses
Pop Up Shop
Elise Powell of Big Beauty Productions,
former City Councilman Andy King and The
Bronx Youth Empowerment Program hosted
a Support Black Owned Businesses Pop Up
Shop on Feb. 13. Vendors sold sneakers, bags
, purses, hair products and jewelry. There
was even a rack of clothing (including suits,
sweaters, ties, jean pants, shoes) that were
given away at no cost to whoever wanted.
Big Beauty Productions served it’s amazing
food, raffles were held, giveaways and
a poem read in honor of black inventors by
The Bronx Youth Empowerment Program.
Some past Youth Empowerment Program
members (who are now in college, have
their own business, etc..) also made appearances.
It was a fabulous event and fun for all
getting our young people out of the house,
assist and have some fun while practicing
safety during this trying time. The community
was very thankful.
