All aboard
A punk made off with $100 in
cash from an unsuspecting straphanger
on Aug. 17.
The victim was waiting for the
4 train at the Nevins Street station
when a man approached him
from behind, threatened him with a
knife, and asked for his wallet, police
said. When the victim refused
to hand it over, the bandit pushed
him to the ground, prompting the
victim to give up the wallet.
The thief took out two $50 bills,
tossed the wallet back, and took off.
A stick-up
A would-be robber got bold on
Aug. 18 when he walked into a Chase
Bank on Myrtle Avenue demanding
money.
A teller told police the man entered
the bank at the corner of
Vanderbilt Avenue, walked up to
the window, and said “Give me all
the hundreds and fi fties or I’ll kill
you.” The teller turned away from
the window, and the goon ran out of
the bank and down Myrtle Avenue.
Cops couldn’t fi nd any sign of him
when they searched the area.
Street fi ght
A good samaritan trying to
break up a fi ght on Oxford Street got
robbed in the process on Aug. 20.
Police said the victim was trying
to keep the peace near Atlantic Avenue
when one of the fi ghting bruisers
allegedly pulled a gun, then
stole the victim’s iPhone and wallet,
including his driver’s license and
credit card, before fl eeing.
The crook was later arrested for
an unrelated incident, when cops
found the stolen wallet full of the
victim’s cards.
Guilty conscience
A rogue couldn’t even deny he’d
cause harm after he hit someone on
the back of the head on Aug. 18 on
Prince Street.
Police said the man allegedly
used a hard object to hit the back
of the victim’s head, causing a laceration.
When offi cers were called
to the scene at the corner of Tillary
Street, the ruffi an immediately admitted
to the smack.
Cops cuffed him on assault
charges.
Cash on the menu
A rogue kept the momentum going
on Aug. 22 when he broke into
another Green Avenue restaurant,
Tarachi, and stole their cash register.
The victim told police he saw
a man break the front window at
around 4 a.m., walk into the restaurant,
and walk out with the register,

A driver has been charged after killing a 6 year old girl on 12th Avenue and 67th
Street in Dyker Heights. Google

Bridge beatdown
A group of women brutally beat
another woman in Brooklyn Bridge
Park on August 16, police say.
The victim told cops she was engaged
in a dispute with the group
near the Furman Street entrance
of the park at around 7:50 pm when
they began to kick and punch her.
The victim suffered a fractured orbital
bone and bleeding in her brain,
according to the report.
Needle-less to say
Cops arrested a man for robbing
a Fulton Street Macy’s and threatening
its employees on August 18.
According to the report, when
employees confronted the man for
shoplifting from the department
store near Hoyt Street at around
3:35 pm, he pointed a needle at them
and said ‘why don’t you come at me
so I can stab you,” and fl ed.
Cops caught up with the suspect
at around 6:00 pm the same day on
Fleet Street near Flatbush Avenue,
and booked him for petit larceny,
possession of stolen property, and
possession of dangerous drugs.
Bike theft
A heartless sneak stole a delivery
worker’s bicycle on Livingston
Street on August 21, police say.
The victim told cops he was delivering
food near Hoyt Street when
he saw the worm fi ddling with the
lock of his bike. He tried to stop the
thief, but he peddled away with his
bike.
Jewel heist
A cat burglar made off with a
woman’s jewels on Sidney Place on
August 20, police say.
The victim told cops she noticed
her jewelry box was empty at
around 1:00 pm. She then realized a
sneak thief had broken in sometime
between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to her
house near State Street, and made
off with $17,750 in jewels.

Remote chance
A thief stole only a TV remote
from a Bay 16th Street apartment
when he ransacked an apartment
on Aug. 20.
The victim told police a bandit entered
his between 86th Street and Benson
Avenue through a side window
when he had not been home around 4
pm and also left a cigarette but when
leaving through the front door.
Shower woes
A home invader broke into a
W. 8th Street apartment and stole
$600 while its inhabitant was in the
shower on Aug. 15.
The victim told police he heard
noise while he was in the shower at
his apartment between Avenues O
and P and got out around 11:30 pm
to fi nd the prowler fl eeing through
the front door.
Money Mayhem
A fi end tried to steal $150 from
the cash register of a Bay Parkway
store but an employee wrestled it
away on Aug. 19.
The employee told police the goodfor
nothing came behind the counter
of the shop between 63rd and 64th
streets around 11 am and pushed her
against a wall after she wrestled the
money away before fl eeing.

A 30-year-old driver has been
charged after killing a 6-yearold
girl on 12th Avenue in Dyker
Heights on Aug. 24, police say.
Qiuhua Zhu was arrested and
charged with manslaughter, criminally
negligent homicide, vehicular
assault, reckless endangerment,
and a slew of other charges
for the crash near 67th Street that
killed 6-year-old Hiromi Tami, according
to the NYPD.
Police say Zhu was travelling
southbound on 12th Avenue at
around 8:00 pm in a Lexus when
he crossed over the solid double
yellow line into oncoming traffi
c in the northbound lane, where
he continued travelling before attempting
a left turn at the intersection
with 67th street, where he
struck Tami as she was crossing
the street.
Police and EMS responded to
the scene and found Tami with severe
wounds to her head and body,
before transporting her to Maimonides
Medical Center where she
was pronounced dead.
“This is heartbreaking. Another
life lost to vehicular violence.”
Andrew Gounardes, the
area’s state senator wrote on Twitter
following the crash. “Please
pray for this girl and her family.”
