Sharing our vision for clean,
reliable energy delivery
We look forward to attending the Community Board 1 Environmental Protection Committee
Meeting on May 27 at 6:30 p.m. to provide an update on our operations, including the proposed
upgrade we’d like to do at our Greenpoint Energy Center. Our plan to improve efficiency at the
facility will help to ensure that we can deliver the energy you need on the coldest winter days.
We are investing in and modernizing our infrastructure for safer, more reliable and cleaner delivery
of energy. We will also share the findings of a recent study in which the local utilities collaborated
with the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, along with support from a 25-member technical advisory
committee of national and local stakeholders, about pathways the City can pursue to effectively
reach its 2050 Decarbonization Goals.

COURIER LIFE, MAY 21-27, 2021 7
The Pathways to Carbon-Neutral NYC
analyzes what it will take to deploy three
potential pathways:
“Electrification” pathway focuses on
electrifying building heating systems
and vehicles
“Low Carbon Fuels” pathway relies
more on renewable natural gas
and hydrogen
“Diversified” pathway looks at what
might be achievable by pursuing
the key elements from the first two
strategies at the same time
We look forward to continuing the
conversation with the community
on May 27 at 6:30 p.m.
