WHERE TO
SATURDAY
Jan. 4
Iced up!
There is a brand new
spot to go ice-skating
in Brooklyn! The William
Vale hotel has
installed a skating rink
on its rooftop —
though it uses a hightech
polymer called
“glice” instead of frozen
water. Apparently
it works just like ice,
and you can use regular
skates on it —
though the hotel will
provide its own special
skates with your
admission.
Noon–midnight at William
Vale (111 N. 12th St. at
Wythe Avenue, 23rd floor,
in Williamsburg, www.
thewilliamvale.com/rink).
$20 ($12 kids).
SUNDAY
Jan. 5
Wise guys
At the annual Three
Kings Day Parade in
Williamsburg, thousands
of people, costumed
characters,
and camels will
march through the
streets and give out
toys to kids. The holy
festival commemorates
the Epiphany,
the day that the
Three Wise Men
brought gifts to the
baby Jesus, but honestly,
we are just
going to check out
the camels.
2 pm along Graham
Avenue, from Meeker
Avenue to Broadway in
Williamsburg. Free.
TUESDAY
Jan. 7
Garden path
Was your New Year’s
Resolution to get
more exercise? Then
take advantage of this
warm weather to go
for a walk through the
Brooklyn Botanic Garden,
where admission
is free on weekdays
all winter! Stroll
through the peaceful
Japanese Garden,
and if you get chilly,
check out the indoor
Jungle Pavilion, which
should be nice and
steamy.
10 pm–4:30 pm at
Brooklyn Botanic Garden
990 Washington Ave.
between President and
Carroll streets in Crown
Heights, (718) 623–7200,
www.bbg.org. Free.

Brooklyn songwriter

with a solo
show of vulnerable
tunes. Mal Devisa
and Beau open.
