It’s a beloved holiday tradition!
It’s beginning to look a lot like
Christmas, and Brooklyn knows the
best way to celebrate the most wonderful
time of the year: gazing with
wonder upon a spectacularly lit evergreen
tree, or chumming it up
with St. Nick himself. To help you
get into the holiday spirit, here is
our guide to all the best tree-lightings
and Santa sightings in the borough.
Festive farm
Brooklynites looking for a downhome
holiday celebration should
look no further than the Lefferts
Historic House. The 19th-century
farming village in Prospect Park
will host “Winter on a Flatbush
Farm,” where you can watch a master
spinner turn wool into thread,
enjoy some sweet Dutch treats, and
welcomes St. Nick when he rides in
on horseback!

A red-sauce Christmas
Brooklyn’s oldest Italian restaurant
will host a holiday dinner and
tree lighting, complete with caroling
and hot toddies that are sure to leave
the adults in the room fi lled with the
Christmas spirits.

Merry MetroTech
America’s Downtown will be
treated to a spectacle of holiday
cheer when the massive fi r in the
center of the business center is lit
up for Light Up MetroTech. Revelers
can gaze upon live ice carving
by Okamoto Studio, jam out to live
music, and munch on hot cocoa and
donuts.

Lotts of fun!
The historic Hendrick Lott house
in Marine Park will celebrate its
300th Annual Holiday Celebration.
The party, featuring a tree lighting,
kid-friendly games, and a visit
from SinterKlaas, will also give curious
history buffs a rare opportunity
to explore the inside of the ancient
abode, the oldest single-family
owned and occupied house in the fi ve
boroughs! You can also meet Brooklyn
historian Tom Campanella,
whose book “Brooklyn: The Once
and Future City” examines an alternate
history of Kings County.
