COURIER LIFE, NOV. 26-DEC. 2, 2021 19

 The joy of holiday shopping
 returns to the Brooklyn
 Navy Yard, Building 77, on
 December 4th and 5th, from
 noon – 5 pm.
 Enjoy browsing goods
 from local artists and manufacturers.
  There will be 25
stalls, with plenty of gifts for
everyone on your list. In addition,
  there are places to eat
and drink, as well as special
 programming that offers lots
of seasonal fun for the entire
 family.
 For example, on Saturday,
 there is an opportunity to
 meet local artists and learn
 some new skills, for nominal
 fees. Every hour there will
be a unique offering, such as
 learning how to create your
 own stools from recycled materials
 or how to create your
 own ceramic mask. Holiday
 Screen Printing is also offered.
  These classes not only
 enhance your skills, but
what you create can make a
 thoughtful, handmade holiday
 gift.
 It all takes place amid
 live music by Apache Brown
Band, and a backdrop of festive
 lights and holiday cheer.
 Sunday is Family Day,
 with a focus on kid-friendly
 activities. One event is provided
 by Brooklyn Book Bodega,
  a nonprofit organization
 at the Navy Yard whose
 mission is to provide children
with access to books, and to
 encourage book ownership.
 They will offer Story Time
 and book giveaways. Kids
will also have the chance to
 decorate holiday ornaments
 and cookies, and to make
cards. A DJ will be on hand
 to play seasonal favorites.
 There will be ice skating
from noon – 4 pm, for a nominal
 fee.
In short, it will be a day
 that promises to create wonderful
 family memories for
 all!
 While surrounded by all
 this excitement, shoppers
can shop ‘til they drop, choosing
 from a selection of home
 goods, fashion accessories,
 artistic items, and wellness
 and skin products for everyone
 on their gift list. Businesses
 on hand will include
 Annie’s Ginger Elixir, Camos
 Handbags Inc., Carrie Bilbo
 Jewelry, Gregoire Ganter
 Photography, Hip Hop Closet,
 INC, Jaleesa Parris Beauty,

 Kitsby, Lio&Linn, MoNoCo
 Design, Nick Golebiewski

 to name a few.
 There are sweet treats to
 purchase for party hosts and
 colleagues, as well as vintage,
 modern, and eclectic gifts for
 those who seemingly have everything.
 This is the Navy Yard’s
4th annual event; it’s first live
 one since 2019, says Johanna
 Greenbaum, Chief Developer
 Officer at the Brooklyn Navy
Yard, so don’t miss the fun!
 The events are indoors,
for the most part, so proof of
 vaccination is required for
 everyone over age 12. Masks
need to be worn when indoors.
 If you can’t make this
 year’s event in person, you
 can still shop for wonderful
 items on line:
