Wheely bad robbery
A bandit stole an electric bicycle
on Flatbush Avenue on May 19.
The perp broke the chain that
was securing the bike between Avenues
H and I sometime between 4
a.m. and 3 p.m. and rode off, according
to police.
Banking bandit
A swindler charged $1,400 to a
Royce Street woman’s credit card
on May 22.
The victim, who lives between
Avenues T and U, told offi cers she
received a message from her bank
regarding suspicious activity on
the card, which she then realized
she was missing from her wallet.
The perp made several unauthorized
charges before she canceled
the card at around 5:30 p.m., cops
said.
Caught shoplifting
Cops cuffed a man for allegedly
shoplifting at an Avenue U hardware
store on May 23.
The suspect allegedly placed
several items in his bag, before attempting
to leave the store between
E. 55th and E. 58th streets, cops
said.
Store security stopped the man,
and cops arrested him 30 minutes
later, according to police.
Check it out
A scammer changed the information
on a check stolen from an E.
58th Street man, and cashed it on
May 10.
The victim, who lives between
Avenues U and T, had mailed a
check for $28.36, but the intended
recipient never received it, he told
police. The baddie stole the check
out of the mail, changed the information,
and deposited it in their
bank account for $3,000, cops said.
Check trickster
A con artist forged and cashed
a check stolen from an Avenue V
woman on May 1.
The woman had written a check
for $101, but the weasel stole it and
cashed the check for $5,560 at an unknown
bank, authorities reported.
Car pirate
A thief looted a car parked on
Avenue N on May 19.
The baddie broke into the unlocked
vehicle, which was parked
between E. 72nd and Royce streets,
and stole a computer, headphones,
and a backpack sometime between
5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., cops said.

Knocked out
A brute knocked a man unconscious
and then robbed him on Bay
View Avenue on May 24.
Cops say the baddie approached
the victim from behind while he
was near W. 36th Street at around
11:30 a.m. and stuck him in the
head. When the victim regained
consciousness, he was missing his
wallet and cellphone, according to
police.
Elder abuse
Cops cuffed a woman who they
say assaulted a 72-year-old man on
17th Avenue on May 25.
The 32-year-old perp punched the
victim in the face, causing severe
bruises, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
near Bay Ridge Avenue, cops said.
Police tracked down and arrested
the woman later that day, according
to authorities.
Fast-food getaway
A thief stole expensive equipment
from a Stillwell Avenue restaurant
sometime between April 16
and May 23.
The owner of the eatery, located
between Bowery Street and Surf Avenue,
told police he closed the fastfood
joint for the winter, and visited
on April 16 to check on things.
When he returned about a month
later, though, he found a bandit had
made off with a sound system, surveillance
equipment, and other electronics,
according to police.
Brighton burglar
A home invader looted a Brighton
Third Street home on May 23.
The burglar broke into the residence
between Ocean View and
Brighton Beach avenues sometime
between 8 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., and
took off with $500 and a cellphone,
cops said.
Subway swiper
A sneak thief robbed a subway
rider at Stillwell Avenue station on
May 22.
The baddie grabbed a backpack
from an unaware victim, who had
placed the bag on the ground next to
him as he was waiting for the stalled
train to begin service, at around 4:30
p.m., police reported. The thief took

the bag and got off the train before it
left the station, cops said.
Credit card criminal
A con artist charged $5,628 to an
E. Seventh Street man’s credit card
on April 7.
The victim, who lives between
Gerald Court and Kathleen Place,
received a bill in the mail for multiple
unknown charges on the card,
which never left his possession, according
to police.
Night terror
A fi lcher robbed a man who
asleep on Coney Island Avenue on
May 25.
The victim told police he was
walking home from a bar at approximately
10 p.m., when he stopped to
rest on the steps of building between
Brighton Eighth Court and Guider
Avenue. While the victim was sleeping,
a bandit stole his belt, watches,
and jewelry, according to police.

SHEEPSHEAD BAY—HOMECREST—

Violent invasion
A home invader robbed an E.
First Street home and assaulted the
homeowner on May 22.
The baddie entered the home
near Avenue U through an unlocked
side door shortly after 1:30 p.m., cops
said. The intruder then punched the
homeowner and stole cash and several
items of jewelry before making
off toward West Street, according to
police.
Pistol pirates
Two crooks robbed a man at gunpoint
in an Avenue S playground on
May 22.
The duo entered the park, between
E. 14th and E. 17th streets, at
approximately 4 p.m., brandishing
a gray handgun, police reported.
One of the villains then robbed the
victim of his cellphone, wallet, and
headphones, before the two escaped
toward E. 13th Street, cops said.
Failed robbery
A marauder attempted to rob a
woman on E. 18th Street on May 21.
Police say the miscreant approached
the victim between Avenue
R and Quentin Road shortly
after 10:30 p.m. and tried to grab
her backpack. The victim refused
to hand over the bag and began to
scream, causing the weasel to run
off toward Kings Highway, cops

Fishing rod
Police are looking for the fi shmonger
who beat a man with a
metal rod inside an Eighth Avenue
market on May 26.
The victim told police he was arguing
with the worker inside the
seafood store between 45th and 46th
streets at 7:45 pm, when the grocer
grabbed the stick and started
whacking him with it, striking him
several times.
When police arrived, the store
was closed, cops said.
Tough love
Police cuffed a woman for allegedly
beating her 9-year-old daughter
with a sandal inside their 60th
Street home on May 21.
The victim’s grandmother told
police the suspect smacked the
youngster with a rubber sandal on
her back inside the apartment between
Fourth and Fifth avenues at
7 am.
The suspect, 28, was cuffed that
day on a felony assault charge, cops
said.
Sharp words
Cops arrested a 41-year-old
woman who they say slashed her
ex-boyfriend inside his 61st Street
home on May 27.
The victim, 35, told police he
was engaged in an argument with
his former fl ame inside the apartment
between Sixth and Seventh
avenues at 12:10 am, when their dispute
turned bloody after the woman
grabbed a kitchen knife and slashed
his hand.
Paramedics transported the victim
to Langone Medical Center for
treatment, while the suspect was
cuffed on a felony assault charge,
cops said.
Mr. Knife Guy
A knife-wielding maniac slashed
a man aboard an R train at 53rd
Street on May 25.
The victim told police the suspect
pulled a knife on him after
he boarded the Manhattan-bound
train at the New Utrecht station
near Fourth Avenue at 8 pm, and
immediately lunged at him, carving
up his arm and torso, before
nabbing his wallet, along with the
$600 it contained, and fl eeing after
the doors opened at 53rd Street.
The hapless straphanger disembarked
further up the line at 45th
Street, and hiked over to Lutheran
Medical Center for treatment, cops
