Newly elected Judge Rosemarie
Montalbano was installed into the
Brooklyn Supreme Court at a robing
ceremony last week.
The former criminal and civil
court judge was elected to the higher
court in the November 2019 general
election.
Members of the Brooklyn legal
community packed into Borough
Hall last Thursday for Montalbano’s
robing ceremony.
Montalbano is a graduate of St.
John’s University and Western New
England Law School. She previously
worked as a law clerk and former assistant
district attorney, before being
elected to the criminal court in 2014.
Montalbano recently hosted a program
with the Columbian Lawyers
that highlighted the impact domestic
violence can have on families, and
how those effects play out in the court
system.
