It’s that rare time of year when western Queens has
perfect weather — that is, when we’re not getting hit by
storms and flash floods. We hope that you’re enjoying the
neighborhood’s parks, al fresco dining, outdoor fitness and
more before sweater weather hits.
It’s no secret that Astoria is home to a large Greek
population (and a plethora of amazing Greek restaurants).
Now, one Astoria resident and Greek American wants to
bring more of her heritage to the neighborhood through
her boutique, Hellenic Aesthetic (page 14).
If you’re one of the millions of people who watched “The
Sopranos,” you’ve been eagerly awaiting its prequel, “The
Many Saints of Newark.” Before the movie premieres on
Oct. 1, meet western Queens resident Gabriella Piazza,
who plays Joanne Moltisanti in the film (page 26).
Whether you prefer going out or staying in, we have
