Normally, we feature street style in the pages of
BORO every month — but these are not normal
times. As western Queens embraces social
distancing and Astorians take to their apartments,
new fashion trends have emerged.
Most of us have gone from wearing business casual every
day to sporting the most casualwear there is: pajamas. (Even
if you have to wear a button-up on a Zoom call, you can still
get away with sweatpants.) Others have dressed up just for
their quarantine crews, donning formal dresses, fun patterns
or bold makeup. Some, like Astoria resident Megan
Zietz, put together outfits that were the best of both worlds:
a bright fur coat and gold-toned accessories paired with a
matching PJ set. One local even fashioned a bold balloon
hat. Here are some of our favorite self-isolation looks.
