 Brooklynites have
 come together to raise
 thousands of dollars for
the 16 victims of a devastating
 fi re in Sunset
 Park.
 The inferno broke out
at 535 46th St. on Oct. 1 at
 around 11:30 pm, sending
 around 60 fi refi ghters
 to the scene, where
 they rushed to the second
 fl oor of the building
 and pulled six people to
 safety, including a fouryear
 old child.
 Some of the victims
 were unconscious, and
 FDNY personell performed
 CPR to revive
 them.
 “The fi refi ghters ran
 with the victims in
 the streets to paramedics
 and police offi cers at
 the 72nd Precinct. They
 were covered in soot. I
 was trying to calm the
 dad down,” said neighbor
 Mike Nieves.
 A total of 16 people
 sustained injuries in
 the blaze, including four
 people whose wounds
 were considered lifethreatening.
   Paramedics
 rushed the victims to
 Maimonides Children’s
 Hospital for treatment of
 their injuries.
 Now, locals have
 opened their wallets to
 raise over $9,370 dollars
 for the victims — and
 more money continues
 to pour into their Go-
 FundMe campaign.
 “Three families are
 now without a home,”
 reads the campaign,
 which was organized by
 Drel Dez. “They’re beautiful
 people, with lovely
 kids, that now need our
 community to rally for
 them.”
 The charitable organizers
 set a $10,000 goal
 for the effort, and have
 so far solicited donations
 from 132 individuals.
