Slumber Swipe
A bandit snagged $32,000 from
the nightstand of a W. 24th Street
home while the owner was sleeping
on Aug. 25.
The victim told police that the
only other person at the residence
between Surf and Mermaid avenues
was her home health aid when
she took a nap around 11 am, and
awoke to fi nd her nightstand missing
the money.
Over the counter
A thief swiped two iPhones from
a Brighton Beach Avenue store on
Aug. 24.
An employee told police that the
shoplifter reached over the counter
at the store between Coney Island
Avenue and Brighton Seventh
Street for the phones at around
12:40 pm before snagging the electronics
and running off.
Protector of Galaxies
A mugger looted a man’s Samsung
Galaxy and $100 cash on
Brighton Beach Avenue on Aug.
24.
The victim told police that the
pirate fi rst demanded the cash at
the intersection of Ocean Parkway,
and attacked him when he refused,
before snagging his belongings at
around 3 am and fl eeing on foot.

Backstabber
A savage stabbed a man walking
on Bay 20th Street in the back
on Aug. 26.
The victim told police that the
marauder stabbed him between
86th Street and Benson Avenue at
around 12:37 am.
Paramedics rushed the bloodied
victim to Lutheran Hospital for
treatment of his wounds, according
to police reports.
Win dixie
A thief broke into an 86th Street
store and stole Dixie cups on Aug.
24.
The victim told police that the
cheapo broke into the store between
Stillwell and 25th avenues at around
11 pm through a side window and
stole the miniature cups.
Stranger Danger
A stalker followed a woman to
her W. Ninth Street home while she
was on her lunch break on Aug. 26.
The victim told police that the
man attempted to pick the locks on

Bike be gone
A criminal stole a $1,500 bike on
Hoyt Street on Aug. 27.
A witness told police that they
saw the pirate cut the lock of the bike
with a power saw near Schermerhorn
Street at around 6 pm, before
wheeling the bike into a nearby subway
station and disappearing.
Classy shoplifter
A thief made off with $1,395 worth
of clothes from a Fulton Street Macy’s
department store on Aug. 23.
An employee told police that the
shoplifter grabbed the items from inside
the store near Hoyt Street, before
running off with furs, a Hugo Boss
shirt, and a Nana Judy shirt.
Wallet wanter
Some snake stole a guy’s wallet
in Brooklyn Bridge Park on Aug.
28.
The victim told police that he put
his wallet down to play soccer on
Pier 5 at around 6 pm, but when he
returned to his belongings, his wallet
was gone.

Phone home
Two robbers stole an iPhone 12
from a victim on Carlton Avenue on
the evening of Aug. 26.
The victim told police that one of
the pirates grabbed the smartphone
out of his hands near Willoughby
Avenue, while the other scoundrel
punched him in the face.
Paramedics rushed the victim to
Lenox Hill hospital for treatment of
his injuries, according to police.
Off the rails
A pilferer looted a man on S.
Portland Avenue on Aug. 28.
The victim told police that he
was leaving the subway station near
Lafayette Avenue when the mugger
pressed something into the back of
his neck and grabbed a phone, debit
card, and driver’s licence from the
startled victim.
Up at bat
A bad family member smacked a
relative with a baseball bat on Navy
Street on Aug. 28.
The victim, while in the emergency
room, told police that the relative
hit his head with the sporting
equipment during a fi ght.
The bruised man walked himself
to the Brookdale Hospital, where he
was treated for lacerations, and received
stitches, according to police
reports.
Shot on the sidewalk
A gunman shot two people outside
Whitman Pharmacy on Myrtle
Avenue on Aug. 29.
Police responded to a ShotSpotter
report near Carlton Avenue and
found the two victims, one who had
been shot in the right ankle and one
on the right leg.
First responders took both victims
to NewYork-Presbyterian
Brooklyn Methodist Hospital for
treatment.
Purse-loined
A cad stole two purses from an
Ashland Place apartment on Aug. 21.
The victim told police that she
hung up her two purses inside her
apartment near Fulton Street, but
later found the door slightly open
and the bags missing.

A woman died of her injuries
on the morning of Aug. 27 after
she was hit by a truck while crossing
a Bensonhurst street.
The NYPD responded to a 911
call regarding the incident at
10:04 am on Aug. 27. Upon arrival,
offi cers found 69-year-old Chumei
Pan in the vicinity of 16th Avenue
and 85th Street who had been
hit by a 2021 Dodge Ram pick-up
truck.
A preliminary investigation
found that the victim had been
trying to cross 16th Avenue at the
location when she was struck by
the truck, which was traveling
westbound on 85th Street when it
turned left onto northbound 16th
Avenue. The victim was rushed
to Maimonides Medical Center,
where she was pronounced dead.
Her identity is being withheld
pending family notifi cation.
The driver of the pick-up truck,
a 36-year-old man, remained at
the scene following the collision.
No arrests have been made at this
time and the investigation is ongoing.
Pan’s death came just days after
a 6-year-old girl was struck and
killed by driver Qiuhua Zhu in
nearby Dyker Heights on Aug. 24.
At a vigil for the victim, Tamy
Quema Guachiac, offi cials plead
for change, with 2021 on track to
have the most traffi c fatalities of
Mayor Bill de Blasio’s tenure.”
