The market, operated by its
namesake British magazine,
Time Out, will launch just
ahead of Memorial Day weekend
with 11 restaurants handpicked
by the publication’s editorial
staff.
The selection includes newcomers
like Manhattan ice
cream purveyors Sugar Hill
Creamery, Brooklyn artisanal
pizza joint Fornino, Thai food
hawker Wayla, and stacked
sandwiches by Tiki Chick.
Returning food options include
mostly outposts of restaurants
from the distant isle,
such as Indian restaurant
Chote Miya, Southern-style
comfort food Jacob’s Pickles,
brunch bistro Clinton St. Baking
Company, and Felice Pasta
Bar.
Mr. Taka, a Ramen restaurant
in the Big Apple, will
open some time this summer,
according to the Market.
The slate is slightly more
than half the 21-restaurant offering
Time Out had when it
fi rst opened in the old industrial
building between Dock
and Main streets in 2019.
Time Out Market closed its
doors in December amid a drop
in business due to COVID-19
worries and government health
restrictions, but announced its
comeback earlier this month
following Gov. Andrew Cuomo
declaring bars and restaurants
can open at full capacity starting
May 19.
This time around, the waterfront
grub emporium will
also offer live performances
for diners to enjoy, such as altcountry
singer Queen Esther,
shows by theater troupe Coney
Island USA, or a celebration

Love Local Brews Bar.
Visitors can dig into their
food indoors or al fresco with
great riverfront views on the
space’s rooftop terrace or at
outside seating next to Brooklyn
Bridge Park.
