6. SAKAI ART SHOW NEW YEARS 2022
Sakai had been an active concert planner
and ukulele instructor since 2014 until the
pandemic sparked Sakai’s artistic spirit. In
2021, he decided to start painting with a
brush, which he hadn’t had for a while, and
started painting acrylics. He continued to
paint every day, and in 2021, he now has
180 works. Come out and support his art
show at Ukehat, which is a music store,
a live venue and an art hut. The opening
reception and closing party, live painting
and other events are charged.

Located in front of the Forest Hills Post
Office, this neighborhood Greenmarket
boasts a variety of locally grown, fresh
products. Throughout the season,
the market will offer free cooking
demonstrations, kids activities, and the
opportunity to mingle with neighbors,
all while getting to know the regional
farmers who grow your food. Come back
each week to learn about the healthful and
flavorful benefits of eating what is fresh

8. TEA MIXER COURSE
Join MisFits Nutrition for their Tea Mixer
Class, with lessons curated for all skill
levels. The tea mixer is a 60-minute
class that walks students through the tea
lifecycle from explaining what’s in the tea
and the benefits of mixing the perfect cup
of our refreshing teas. The class will also
explain how various blends can be prepared.
You will learn different techniques, and
types of tea that we have to offer.

9. ILLUMINATE THE FARM
Head to Queens County Farm for this
annual light festival. The event boasts
over 1,000 lights, which combine to make
up the stunning lanterns that patrons can
enjoy. Lanterns are custom designed by
Chinese artisans as part of a 2,000 yearold
tradition and depict farm animals, fruits,
vegetables, flowers and holiday delights.

10. MULCH FEST
Don’t know what to do with your trees after
the holidays are over? Queens Farm is hosting
Mulch Fest, where you can drop off your
trees for recycling. This event is hosted in
partnership with the NYC Parks Department
and the New York City of Sanitation. All Trees
will be taken away from the farm for wood
chipping and will be used for mulch parks
around the city.
