3. “THE BOOK OF LIFE” MOVIE
SCREENING
The Museum of the Moving Image presents
a screening of “The Book of Life,” a lively
musical comedy that weaves the Day of
the Dead holiday with the theme of love
transcending death. Inspired by Mexican
folklore, mythology and pop culture, the CGanimated
film is rated PG and recommended
for ages 7 and up.

Do something fun with your pumpkins after
Halloween. People of all ages are welcome
to bring your jack-o’-lanterns, uncarved
pumpkins or soon-to-compost gourds to
Pumpkin Smash, where you can smash,
squash or catapult your pumpkins to keep
our city’s green spaces thriving. the NYC
Compost Project will turn smashed gourds
into compost that will help revitalize soils in
parks and green spaces. There will also be
games and worm bins.
