Vanessa Luna has always fought for what matters
to her, whether that’s advocating for immigrant
families at her nonprofit, or taking up kickboxing
to stay healthy. After becoming a permanent U.S.
resident, Vanessa planned to take a trip home
to Peru to visit her family. Then the COVID-19
pandemic hit. Rather than be defeated, Vanessa
kicked into gear, helping the families she serves
apply for financial relief. Now, Vanessa has joined
the fight against COVID-19 by getting vaccinated,
and is one step closer to seeing her family again.
