Health and Hospitals
Having served on the Queens New York Presbyterian
Hospital Community Advisory
Board, I know first hand that everyone has a
right to quality health care and access to
hospitals. A hospital in District 27 will bring
quality healthcare and job opportunities to
our community.
Veterans’ Care
Our veterans have sacrificed many things in
their lives and deserve the best and highest
quality health care and assistance. I led the
successful fight to keep the St. Albans VA
open here in our district and I’ll continue to
fight for better and expanded services for
our local Veterans.
Education
Our community is strengthened through education
and our children deserve the highest
quality of education. As a mother, former
Community Board 12 Chairperson and now a
grandmother, I’m very aware that our public
schools are in need of help. As parents, we
want our children to attend schools close to
home. As a City Council Member, I will
address the needs of each school to ensure
our students have access to high quality educators,
current technology and trade
schools, so that they are best equipped for
the future.
Quality of Life
Our community deserves adequate resources
to support quality of life initiatives and
ensure public safety. I will work with my
district’s Civic Organizations and the Community
Boards to ensure that we resolve the
issues in our community. As Chairperson, I
helped fund infrastructure repair and
improved community relations with the
police. I fought to landmark Addisleigh
Park which saved it from developers. I will do
what I can to save the communities in my
Council District 27 from overdevelopment.
