As part of a month-long series of LGBTQ
events and celebrations, this year’s New York
City Pride March holds the record for the
largest Pride celebration in the word! The
march began at Madison Square Park and
led participants past the Stonewall National
Monument before dispersing in Chelsea on
23rd street. This year’s march welcomed some
150,000 participants, and bares heightened
signifi cance as the 50th anniversary of the
1969 Stonewall riots as well as the 50th
anniversary of the fi rst time a WorldPride
event was held in the United States!

than the home of the Rockettes? Radio City
Music Hall, otherwise known as the Showplace
of the Nation, has been hosting sold out

For many New Yorkers, the longstanding
Film Forum movie theater on West Houston
Street is considered a treasure that provides
audiences with an intimate and unique moviegoing
experience. The theater began serving
the city in 1970 as an alternative screening
space for independent fi lms and have kept
that ideal as their main purpose throughout
their decades-long history. The Film Forum
prides itself on carefully and caringly curating
an array of international fi lms as well as
American and international classic movies that
showcase “diverse social, political, historical
and cultural realities.” The nonprofi t theater,
which is open 365 days a year, relies mostly on
public funders that allows them to steer away
from Hollywood’s high-grossing fi lms and
instead take risks by presenting projects by
emerging fi lmmakers.
