mask assists in
hotel heist

Two armed bandits weren’t
clowning around when they
robbed a Maspeth hotel last
week, according to police.
Law enforcement sources said
the two male perpetrators walked
into the Comfort Inn hotel lobby
at 60-30 Maurice Ave. at 3:10 a.m.
on Oct. 19 and confronted two
employees.
Police said one of the suspects
– who wore a white clown mask, a
black jacket, gray jeans and white
sneakers – displayed a fi rearm, while
his accomplice wore a black hooded
sweatshirt and a red bandana over
his face while brandishing a knife.
The two thieves demanded cash
from the hotel workers, who provided
them with $300. The pair then
fl ed the scene on foot along Maurice
Avenue.
Offi cers from the 104th Precinct
responded to a 911 call about the
incident; no injuries were reported.
Captain John Mastronardi, the
104th Precinct’s commander, took
to Twitter on Oct. 20 and posted a
wanted fl yer featuring an image of
the mask-wearing suspect.
