Brown identified the defendant as Jason Bohn, 35, of 33rd Street in Astoria, who was convicted on Mar. 5 of first-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence and firstdegree criminal contempt following a seven-week jury trial before Queens Supreme Court Justice Michael Aloise The judge ordered Bohn on Tuesday, Apr. 15, to serve a life sentence in prison without the possibility of parole. “Bohn has been held accountable for his actions and will spend the rest of his life in prison,” Brown said in a statement Tuesday. “At trial, the jury listened to harrowing evidence—including a recording during which the victim begged for her life as the defendant tortured and ultimately killed her— and returned a verdict of first-degree murder finding that ‘the defendant acted in an especially cruel and wanton manner pursuant to a course of conduct intended to inflict and inflicting torture upon the victim prior to the victim’s death.’” According to the trial testimony, police were called to Bohn’s apartment on June 26, 2012, and discovered Danielle Thomas’s body -SEE MURDER ON PG. 57- Law enforcement sources said Angel Torres, 46, of Myrtle Avenue suffered fatal injuries after being hit by an SUV at the corner of Broadway and Halsey Street at about 7:50 a.m. last Wednesday morning. According to police, the heist occurred at 3 p.m. on Apr. 4 inside the TD Bank located at 63-54 108th St. Reportedly, the crooks approached a teller and demanded cash. One of the suspects then jumped over the counter and removed a sum of cash from a draw, law enforcement sources noted. The bandits then fled from the scene in an unknown direction. Officers from the 112th Precinct responded to the robbery; there were no reported injuries. Police described both suspects as black males with slim builds; one is believed to be 25 to 30 years of age, standing 5’11”-tall with a dark complexion and last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and a beard. Authorities said the other perpetrator is between 24 and 25 years old and standing 6’1”-tall.
