BWG Boys Win It All In Philadelphia Tournament 51 • TIMES, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2015 The Blue Weiss Gottschee (BWG) U14 boys’ team (pictured top left) were victorious at at US Soccer Futsal event in Philadelphia last weekend. The boys finished group play with three wins, advancing to play the Red Bulls in the finals. BWG scored in the final minute to win the contest 6-5. Some of the BWG teams participated in the New York City Classic tournament, which is organized by the Brooklyn Italian Soccer Club. In the tournement 2006 Blue were finalist, 2005 Blue (pictured bottom right) won their bracket, 2004 Blue (pictued bottom left) were the champions in their field, 2003 White made it to the finals, 2002 Blue won their championship, and 2000 Blue were finalist. Jack McGlynn (pictured top right) won the most valuable player award for helping the 2002 Blue win first place. Jack was born in 2003, and in this tournament was playing two years up in age. The Second Round Winners Of Free Throw Contest The Knights of Columbus held the second round of their free throw shooting contest at St. Pancras School in Glendale last Saturday, Feb. 7. Involved were students from St. Pancras, Sacred Heart and Resurrection Ascension School. The boys winners of this round are (pictured above): age 9, Daniel Uribe; age 10, Nicholas Penn; age 11, Jackson SanfiLippo; age 12, Domenic Lobosco; age 13, Arben Mehmet; age 14, Mathew Autz. The girls winners were: age 9, Jaclyn Watson, age 10, Marilyn Mahoney; age 11, Daniella DiGioia; age 12, Gabriella Morales; age 13, Chelsea Hernandez; age 14, Brianna Roman.
