man knifed
girlfriend in
an argument

A Ridgewood man remains
locked up on high bail aft er
being arrested for allegedly
stabbing his girlfriend last week,
police reported.
Law enforcement sources said that
Ismael Rios, 22, of Himrod Street got
into an argument with his 26-yearold
lover inside a home in the vicinity
of Bleecker Street and Onderdonk
Avenue at 8:36 p.m. on Jan. 11.
According to police, the dispute
turned violent when Rios allegedly
pulled two knives out of a kitchen
drawer, grabbed the woman by her
throat and stabbed her in the chest
and torso.
Offi cers from the 104th Precinct
responded to the location; the victim
was treated for injuries that were not
considered life-threatening.
Rios was arrested at the scene
and charged with assault, attempted
murder, criminal possession of
a weapon and criminal obstruction
of breathing. Court records
indicated that he remains held on
$75,000 bail and must return to
court on Jan. 29.
