Kieron Pollard will lead the Trinbago
Knight Riders (TKR) in the
upcoming 2020 Hero Caribbean
Premier League (CPL). This was
announced by the Chief Executive
Officer (CEO) of Red Chillies Entertainment
Venky Mysore the owners
of the team.
Regular captain, Dwayne Bravo
has been demoted to vice-captain.
Pollard took over the captaincy after
Bravo got injured on the eve of the
2019 tournament. Bravo was struck
on the hand during a next session
and Pollard who was brought in from
the St. Lucia Zouks took over.
The West Indies Twenty20 and
One-Day International captain saw
TKR through a successful run until
the playoff where they fell to eventual
champions Barbados Tridents.

of the Caribbean in September, dealing
a harsh blow to Cricket West Indies
(CWI) plans of hosting a major series
this year.

ICC discusses fate
of World Test
Championship

The International Cricket Council
is discussing the fate of the inaugural
World Test Championship (WTC) which
will depend on the ability of countries
to reschedule the series that have been
postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With several bilateral series being
wiped out, doubts remain over whether
the WTC final between the top two
sides could be held as scheduled in June
next year at Lord’s.
