CONCACAF said on Wednesday
that there were a few untouchable
positives for United States coach
Gregg Berhalter to take away from
the team’s 1-0 win over Haiti in Kansas
City, Kansas.
“The clean sheet, the solid teamwork
on Sam Vines’ eighth-minute
header goal, the energetic play of
Shaquell Moore, and, of course, the
three points for the win,” CONCACAF
said.
“We still need to go to another
gear,” Berhalter told CONCACAF.
“We didn’t create enough and we
didn’t finish enough chances.”
Undoubtedly, CONCACAF said the
rhythm of the US was affected when
experienced winger Paul Arriola suffered
a hamstring injury shortly after
the goal and had to abandon the
match.

CPL to shift
start date
By Azad Ali
This year’s edition of the Caribbean
Premier League (CPL) is set to start two
days earlier than originally scheduled.
The shift has come following a request
from the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) on
the international calendar to complete
the suspended Indian Premier League.
According to the ESPNcricinfo website,
the CPL will now be played in St.
Kitts and Nevis between Aug. 26 and
Sept. 15.
The CPL was originally scheduled to
start on Aug. 28 and end on Sept. 19,
but that changed after the BCCI began
talks with Cricket West Indies (CWI) and
CPL immediately after it identified the
September-October window for wrapping
up the remainder of the postponed
2021 CPL.
