The LIC Flea will open its gates to the public for the first time this year beginning on Saturday, April 11th, and will be open each Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at its original waterfront space located at the corner of 5th Street and 46th Avenue in Long Island City until October. “We’re thrilled to be kicking off the third season of LIC Flea & Food,” said Joshua Schneps, LIC Flea & Food president. “We have an awesome lineup of vendors from past seasons, and many exciting new vendors.” The market has proven to be a remarkable grounds for local artisans, cooks, and craftspeople to showcase their work, expand their fan base, build great relationships with other vendors, and test new products. New vendors will include jewelry by Stem Design Works (www.facebook.com/sterndesignworks), desserts from Bundt NYC (www.facebook.com/bundtsnyc), Middle Eastern skewers from Heart & Soul, unique gifts from Siggy Parker’s General Store (www.facebook.com/siggyparkersgeneralstore), and All-American bites from Yankee Doodle Dandy’s (www.facebook.com/USAfoodtruck)--which was founded by a man who won the money to start his business on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Past favorites, such as Butcher Bar and Tea & Milk will also be returning, along with Oconomi and Jessy’s Pastries. The lineup is proving to be one of the most exciting yet. “We are also opening up our beer garden with local beer including Rockaway Brewery, Singlecut, Queens Brewery, and Finback,” explained Schneps.
